L’enoteca
L’enoteca is a neighbourhood wine bar located in the heart of Rabat, close to Mdina – once the capital and the oldest city in Malta. Since opening in December 2019, we have established ourselves as a place to be reckoned with, serving quality food and wine, in a cosy setting and warm atmosphere. We invite you to come in and enjoy a memorable experience that is out of the ordinary. Our concept is simple: high quality home made local products to accompany every wine lover’s taste. We have a romantic interior below in our historical cave dating back thousands of years, or a relaxed al-fresco outdoor dining area. Either way, you will want to sit for a very long time. Whether you visit us for lunch, dinner or simply for a glass of wine, we offer you an escape which you will wish to have over and over again.
Concept
We stand behind our vision for honest food. Food that does not need elaborate presentations, but just presence. Leaving the quality of the products, speak for themselves, simplicity at its best is what we believe is the shortest path to your palate euphoria. An example of this beautiful dance is our olive, rosemary and garlic focaccia… an all-time favourite.
Our view of the wine selection follows a similar direction. You will definitely find a few classics here., however the majority of our wine selection is something you will rarely find, or have ever heard of. Our mission is to educate and show the beauty of the world of wine, helping you to find your next favourite bottle whilst cheering to life.
Menu
Our menu changes frequently, but the ingredients are always fresh and the selection is mainly seasonal. We are proud to deliver the home-made flavours of artisan farmers cheeses, as well as bringing our own cold cuts and salami to the table. In collaboration with the local butcher, our ideas become reality in a great selection of cured, smoked and dried meats, pioneering the true essence of a wine bar.
